Transitional Home Remodel

Woodinville, Washington

The goal for this beautiful whole house remodel in Woodinville, WA, was to take the 25-year-old traditional home and update it into a light, fresh contemporary space. All wainscoting was removed, carpet replaced with wood flooring, and marble elements added throughout to achieve this goal, while still blending with the client’s many traditional and antique pieces of furniture. We opened up the foyer by switching out the solid front door for one with glass and by replacing walls at the stairs with an open railing featuring nickel balusters. The angled powder bath created a challenge, but was solved with a floating quartz vanity and open shelf below for storage. A custom, built-in wardrobe was added to the front hall, replacing a previous closet that we utilized for enlarging the kitchen. In the formal living room, we replaced the tile on the fireplace with a patterned marble and removed a wall to open up the space. The kitchen’s wood cabinets, dark counters and backsplash were traded for white cabinets, a white hex tile backsplash, and beautiful Arabescato quartz counters. The cooktop was moved from the island to the back wall, complete with a custom vent hood. A header was raised, wall moved, and a closet was taken from the foyer, resulting in a full wall of appliances and bar area. What a transformation!
