Mercer Island Update

This small dated 1970s bathroom needed a refresh! Working with a concrete floor really limited our options with moving things around. So, we set out to accomplish the feeling of spaciousness without adding any sf. We chose a mostly white and light gray palette, and downsized the vanity to create more open space next to the toilet. We took the tile to the ceiling in the shower, and added a 3/4 glass panel to create the illusion of space. We deepened the tub to be a soaker, and added a pocket door to remove the door from almost hitting the toilet. We also chose the toilet very carefully to get the right size. The taller, elongated previous toilet just didn’t work in this space. Adding shelving, and a ladder for storage create visual interest and functionality. We also tore out the linen closet, raised the header for more space and created open shelving for storage.
